Janice Opie hails from Ancaster, Ontario, and currently resides in Niagara Falls. Many disciplines have been touched upon, including dying silk for clothing, chain maile, mosaic stone pathways and Thangka painting in a Tibetan monastery. She recently published a fiction novel loosely based on a two year offshore sailing stint. Throughout all phases of creating, acrylics and watercolours have woven a common thread which are the basis of this website.
Not one to paint realistically, I tend to apply some abstract techniques onto most of my work. I hope you enjoy!
A little more information on the novel available at Amazon. Built a sail boat in British Columbia, and sailed it down the Pacific Coast, through the Panama Canal, across the Caribbean to Florida. The story is based on this but is also a murder mystery. Enjoy!
